Sometimes you just need help getting started. I’ve been there too.
In this free 5-day challenge, I walk you through how to create a language-learning plan for the rest of 2021.
I’ll help you take a look at your priorities, your current schedule, and build habits to help you create and maintain a consistent and effective language practice.
Join the challenge!

Everything you need will be in that first email, and everything has “[Speak a New Language Challenge]” in the subject line!

It’s free to join, and you can access it anytime here:
Who is Jake?
Hey there! I’m a language-learner who found a love of languages as a teenager. (You know how, as a teenager, you had an esoteric interest like medieval codebreaking, or Botswanan flower arranging? Foreign languages were that for me.)
Now I’m on a mission to help over 100 people in 2021 confidently speak a foreign language, whether that’s by learning an entirely new language or by strengthening and solidifying the one they already speak.
I started this challenge because a lot of people talk to me and say that they’ve always wanted to learn a foreign language, but they don’t know where to start.
This challenge is where you start. You start with the 5 days of exercises I’ll ask you to do in this challenge.
Give it a go!

Some questions you might have…
What exactly will I be doing in this challenge?
You’re going to get ready to learn a new language. I know that sounds like a whole lot of nothing, but it isn’t.
Think of it this way: before you start a big project, you need a plan, no? You get a syllabus for a course you take, you set a practice schedule before your first big game, and so on.
What we’re doing in this challenge is creating the runway. Like good project managers, we’re looking ahead to see which obstacles will impede our progress and we’re addressing them here and now.
After this challenge, you’ll be in learning mode, not managing mode. You won’t have to do anything except worry about learning the language itself. Everything else—the scheduling, the mindset, the potential roadblocks—will be taken care of.
Is it free to start?
Yes, absolutely. There’s no paid offer at the end of this challenge, and I’m not going to sell you anything along the way.
How does it work?
1.) Fill out the form at the top or bottom of this page and sign up for the challenge.
2.) Check your email for the first day of the challenge. Watch the training video that’s inside and do the exercises in the PDF worksheet.
3.) For the next four days, check your email for days 2-5 of the challenge.
4.) Join the Chewing on Yogurt Facebook Group if you get stuck, need inspiration, or just want to share your wins.
How can I possibly learn a new language in 5 days?
You’re not learning a new language yet. You’re setting up the framework for a successful language-learning journey.
Think of it this way: a sports team needs a coach. They can’t practice whenever they feel like it: they need a structure and a “curriculum” to get them where they want to go.
That’s what we’re doing in this challenge. You’re creating that structure and that curriculum for yourself.
Think of it as laying all the important groundwork in advance, so that you don’t wake up one day and realize the single day you skipped turned into a week, and then two weeks…
(I’ve been there before too.)
The work you’ll do in this challenge will help ensure you DON’T end up there again.
