Hi, I’m Jake.
I teach new and experienced language-learners how to overcome their mental blocks, stay consistent with their practice, and speak with confidence so they can master their target language in record time.
Trying to Learn a Second Language?
Raise your hand if you’ve ever struggled with:
- Mental blocks where you talk yourself into a negative spiral of “I can’t do this”
- Feelings of frustration and embarrassment when you try to communicate
- Scheduling consistent practice
- A lack of confidence around speaking and a desire to not make more work for others with your unending grammar and pronunciation mistakes
Hand raised? Yeah, mine too. I speak 5 languages. I’ve been there. The good news? You can make the mindset shifts to succeed in spite of these challenges.

Who is Jake?
I started French, my first foreign language, in 8th grade. I attended public school. My parents are monolingual. I was no more talented than my peers at French.
I also have a bad ear, so I always FAILED the listening comprehension quizzes.
But fast forward a few years and I was playing interpreter for an English-speaking couple at Montréal Pride. What changed?
